LCUL, CUNA Hosts Webinar on "Open Your Eyes" Awareness Initiative in Louisiana
LCUL will co-host an upcoming webinar with CUNA on June 4 at 10:00 a.m. to answer member questions about the Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union awareness initiative.

Based on more than three years of comprehensive nationwide research, the "Open Your Eyes" initiative was developed to dispel myths surrounding credit union membership and help grow market share. During the webinar, we'll cover the latest details about the campaign and how Louisiana credit unions will benefit from participating.

Registering is easy. Simply email LCUL's communications department with your name and credit union. Additional information and instructions for calling in will be sent closer to the date. 

CUNA launched its consumer-facing website, www.YourMoneyFurther.com, which helps consumers find credit unions near them and assists them in determining which one makes sense for them to join.  
Hurricane Season is Around the Corner; Review the League's Updated Resources

With June 1 being the start of hurricane season, the League wants to remind credit unions about important disaster preparedness information and resources available on our website.

NCUA Returns $160.1M in Dividend Payments to CUs This Week
More than 5,500 eligible institutions will receive dividends totaling $160.1 million from the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund starting this week, according to NCUA. Credit unions should have received statements in the mail indicating the amounts they will receive.

Baton Rouge Young Professionals Hosting Mixer, Leadership Workshop
Young Professionals in the Baton Rouge area are hosting two events that incorporate both networking and professional development.

On May 29, members of the YPN are invited to attend a mixer at Bin 77 - Perkins Rowe from 5:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.  To register, simply email [email protected] with your name and credit union. Deadline to RSVP is May 24.

On June 11, members of the YPN are encouraged to attend a 'Leadership Lessons Learned int he Trenches' workshop faciliated by Beverly Thompson. This event will be held at Neighbors FCU (8245 YMCA Plaza Drive) from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. The cost to attend is $15 and includes breakfast. Chelsea Gstohl Promoted to AVP of Marketing
Pelican State Credit Union promoted Chelsea Gstohl to the position of Assistant Vice President of Marketing. Gstohl has been with Pelican since 2010 and previously served as the Marketing Manager. 
 
Gstohl consistently exceeds performance standards and tirelessly invests her energy into the development of her team. She excels in leadership both at Pelican and outside of the credit union, serving as the Chair of LCUL's Young Professionals Network and is a BAI Emerging Leader. 
 
Through her team, Gstohl has achieved numerous state and national awards for Pelican that have secured its reputation as an industry leader. She is a Credit Union Certified Marketing Executive (CUCME) through CUNA. 
Kiwanis Club of LSU Recognizes Two Honorees From Campus Federal
The Kiwanis Club of LSU recently held its annual Awards Luncheon at The Club at Union Square on the LSU campus, recognizing contributions of the Kiwanis Club of LSU to LSU and the surrounding communities. At this year's event, two of the award recipients were from Campus Federal.
 
Dr. Yvette B. Marsh, Senior Director of Talent Management for the LSU Foundation and a member of the Campus Federal Board of Directors, was presented with the LSU Outstanding Leadership Award. This award is given annually to a current employee of LSU who has demonstrated superlative leadership and management with a commitment to the development of professionalism, expertise and service to LSU.
 
Brian Ainsworth, Vice President of Business Development at Campus Federal, was awarded the Walter Zeller Fellowship designed exclusively for The Eliminate Project, providing funding to eliminate Maternal and Neo-Natal Tetanus (MNT) worldwide.
