Dear Friends,
This morning a significant 7.2 earthquake struck western Haiti near Bondeau. We have spoken with Pere Phanord, the Priest-in-Charge at Bondeau. He is safe and has not heard of any fatalities in Bondeau.
In Bondeau, the church and school buildings are at first inspection undamaged. However, there is damage to the Guest House (which is home to Pere and approximately 15 others) and also to some homes in the community.
The quake was centered about an hour from Bondeau near Petit Trou partner community of The Colorado Haiti Project, a fellow organization. SFHP Board President, Father Andrew Sherman, spoke with Wyn Wallent, Director of the Colorado Haiti Project (Locally Haiti). There are reports from Petit Trou of significant damage and possibly fatalities.
Please pray for the people of Bondeau and Haiti. God help our Brothers and Sisters in Haiti.
