CHAPTER UPDATES
International Women's Day

Please join the International Trends and Services (ITS) Facet in celebrating
International Women’s Day (IWD) by wearing something PURPLE to our March Chapter Meeting. Celebrated annually on March 8th, IWD is an opportunity to recognize women’s achievements. The theme for 2020 is “An equal world is an enabled world”…a call for equality.

PURPLE, which signifies justice and dignity is the primary color associated with IWD internationally. Members of the Arlington Chapter recently struck the pose of an equal sign to support the 2020 IWD equality theme. Check out your Link Sisters in the video below.

In addition to wearing PURPLE at the chapter meeting and taking photos, ITS has chosen to highlight the accomplishments of Black women in STEM professions by sharing this article which we encourage you to read and we hope you will enjoy. Katherine Johnson Article

We celebrate you and all women worldwide on this day and every day!

Arlington (VA) Links Transform
Communities in Jamaica

Some know them as the Links National President, and Director of Health and Human Services; but to us, they are simply Links Kim and Nickie. Our chapter sisters embarked on an amazing missionary trip to Jamaica last month in partnership with UNICEF, Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures, and AARP.

A team of Links joined Kim and Nickie to bring our STEM and oral health programming to the schools adopted. Link Nickie taught hand washing to 4 year olds at the Mt. Carey School and the missionary trip was commemorated with a plaque and Link Kim's name painted on a building at St. Mary's.
Arlington (VA) NTS Co-Sponsors
DMV Links Census Rally

As part of our NTS Get Out the Vote Initiative, we have agreed to co-sponsor an event organized by the Metropolitan D.C. Links chapter to educate our DMV Link members of the importance of educating our communities about the importance of participating in the 2020 U.S. Census. The event will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the Charlie Palmer Steak House on Capitol Hill. At the event, which will be geared toward DMV Links, we will discuss action items that we can do as Links to make sure our communities are counted. At this time you can also catch up with DMV Link sisters and enjoy food and beverages at the restaurant.

If you plan to attend, please contact Link Debra Long Doyle at msdld07@gmail.com
