Rector's Notes

"So what does this "Jesus Movement" thing mean and what is the "Reclaiming Jesus" project about?   The Most Rev'd Michael Curry, Presiding Bishop (PB) and Primate of the Episcopal Church is leading both our Episcopal Church and the Christian community more broadly in an exercise of exploration and rediscovery of our faith roots, both denominationally as Episcopalians and more universally as Christians.  On Sunday, June 10 at 9:30, the rector will host a introductory discussion of these two tracts our PB is leading us to consider and embrace.  We will assemble in the meeting room by the nursery on the second floor of the church.  Persons exploring or new to the Episcopal tradition as well as those well-schooled in our Anglican ways are invited to consider this offering.

On June 11th at 7:30 pm at St. Paul's KCMO, Grammy nominated violist Jonah Sirota will be joined by Kurt Knecht for a concert featuring music from Jonah's album "Strong Sad" as part of Jonah's national tour. Also, you may have heard that Rev. Jonathan Callison is now offering Holy Eucharist on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm, lasting 30 minutes (see note above).  On the first and third Wednesdays, there will be a follow up with 30 minutes of conversation including such things as social justice, community engagement, and TEFAP planning.  Bonus for the first Wednesday, it will be a Spanish language service and some bi-lingual conversation after.   So come for Holy Eucharist and/or social justice chat on the first and third Wednesdays at 6pm with Father Jonathan!  60 minutes total, what a deal!

Senior Commodities

St. Paul's Episcopal Food Pantry is looking for a regular volunteer(s) for the Senior Commodity program on  Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

We urgently need some volunteer leadership on Wednesday evenings for this important food program!

This is a perfect volunteer opportunity for couples or for students who need service hours!     The program serves Missouri residents who are 60 years of age or older and meet certain income requirements.   The volunteer opportunity involves taking applications, checking the clients in and possibly helping them carry out their food boxes.   We generally serve approximately 20-25 clients on Wednesday evenings.

If you are able to help, please contact Karen Seitter or at 816-590-9366.   Thanks! I appreciate your consideration.

!!!!!!!!!We are in need of Coffee Hour Hosts!!!!!!
Please Let Allison know

We hope you will consider teaming up with another family or a friend to maintain our fellowship and gathering following the 10:30 a.m. service that has brought our parishioners together for years.

Hosting Coffee Hour is a fun and easy way to get to know other St. Paul's members! The host brings the food and the church provides the drinks. An example of what a host might bring would be: two large pans of brownies (cut very small), maybe a bowl of fruit (oftentimes grapes cut into small clusters), and a bowl or two of pretzels or popcorn. If you have questions or wish to co-host with another member, please contact  Alison.  Dates are available:
