Timeline For Superintendent Search

A Message from the Board of Trustees

We are pleased to report that we had 65 talented applicants apply for the position of Superintendent of the Lovejoy Independent School District. Many of the applicants were sitting Superintendents in larger districts. Additionally, we had several Chief Academic Officers of some of the strongest academic programs inside and outside of Texas, and we attracted Chief Financial Officers and Assistant Superintendents with stellar reputations and accomplishments. Our talent pool was deep, and with Lovejoy being a destination district, it helped drive some of the most comprehensive talent with which our search firm has worked. We have narrowed our focus to five candidates and will name a lone finalist on June 4, followed by the approval and introduction of our next Lovejoy ISD Superintendent at our regular board meeting on Wednesday, June 26.

District-Wide News

Advertising Opportunities Available for Local Business at Lovejoy Stadium and LHS Competition Gym
Lovejoy ISD is embarking on an exciting journey with digital video scoreboards at Lovejoy Stadium and the Lovejoy High School Competition Gym. With the help of our scoreboard provider, Daktronics, and their sports marketing team, we have created a limited number of advertising spots for the stadium and the gym that are reserved for local businesses. Our leadership team would love to schedule a time to visit with you and listen to your marketing objectives and see how we can best help through the marketing opportunities available with the digital video scoreboards.

Please use the link below to reserve an appointment to visit with the district and see what new exciting opportunities are available for businesses of all sizes. All times and packages are on a first come, first serve basis due to the limited number of opportunities at the stadium and gym. With our annual stadium and gym attendance climbing each year, you don't want to miss this opportunity. Once these openings are filled there may not be another opportunity again for a few years.

The first set of appointments available will be on May 21, 22, and 23. We will host businesses at the LISD administration building on May 21 and 22 and can travel remotely on May 23, if needed.

Please consider selecting an appointment time to discover the possibilities.

Important News from Student Nutrition Regarding Student Meal Accounts
This is a courtesy message from Lovejoy Student Nutrition Services to inform households of an upcoming change in student meal accounts. In an effort to minimize negative balances at the end of the school year, beginning Wednesday, May 8 and for the remainder of the school year, students will no longer be able to charge meals which will result in the student incurring a negative balance to their meal account. Students may continue to use their lunch accounts as long as they have money in the account. Households with students who currently have negative balances will receive reminder emails and phone calls. Federal regulations prohibit us from rolling over negative balances to the next school year. Please make arrangements to remit payment for any negative lunch accounts your child may have incurred.

All positive balances will be rolled over to next school year. If you have a graduating senior, funds may be transferred to any sibling in the school district. To request a meal account refund, please complete a refund request form located on the Student Nutrition website. For assistance, please contact Student Nutrition at 469.742.8041.

Student Nutrition Services thanks you for your understanding and for allowing us to serve your student(s) this school year.
