A Message from Molly Smerko: July 9, 2021
Dear friends,

I love the way that country music always tells a story. One song that tells a story is “Humble And Kind” by Tim McGraw. He sings, "Don’t take for granted the love this life gives you. When you get where you’re going, don’t forget turn back around. And help the next one in line. Always stay humble and kind. The music video shows people of every age, race, ability, and nationality living life to the fullest. I think there is a connection between humility and living a joyful life, which we’ll explore more this Sunday.

This Sunday, we will talk about Philippians 2:1-5 and living as the cross-shaped community. The Philippians wanted to know what principles should dictate their community life. In answering this question, Paul points them back to the cross of Christ. It is in Christ that we find our guide for a humble life of loving and serving others. I hope you will join us on Sunday as we explore what it means to live as the cross-shaped community.

In Christ,
