NYDA Survey Results
#ApplaudDirectSupport:
First and foremost we want to share a message from Commissioner Kastner and the staff at OPWDD which applauds the heroic efforts of our DSP’s in the face of this crisis. We know the courage they have shown in the midst of this crisis and want to make sure that everyone else knows as well. Please use the hashtag #ApplaudDirectSupport to give thanks to DSP’s. The message from the Commissioner can be found here and the video messaged mentioned in his letter can be found here.
NYDA Survey Results:
Over the past two weeks New York Disability Advocates (NYDA) has been collecting survey data on the effects of Covid-19 on agencies and the people they serve in an effort to raise awareness and advocate on your behalf. We have received a response rate that is representative of about 60% of the total people served in the State. We will be distributing the survey for the third week tomorrow so please take the time to fill out the questions in an effort to increase the validity of our survey data beyond the 60% participation rate. A summary of the first two weeks of data can be found here.
Major takeaways from the survey data through 2 weeks include:
Confirmed COVID-19 cases among individuals served are up nearly 9% since last week on a statewide basis and up over 10% in the metro region among respondents.
The number of employees with confirmed COVID-19 cases has jumped by more than 40% since last week among respondents.
The number of deaths among individuals served has increased by nearly 32% since last week among respondents.
If you have any questions regarding the survey please contact Ryan Cox, VP of Analytics and Financial Business Strategies at rcox@nyalliance.org.
