Duke Global Health Institute Evidence Lab
The Evidence Lab developed a series of tools to help social enterprises in healthcare evaluate their services, products and/or technologies. The toolkit outlines different ways social enterprises in health can better evaluate their work and communicate their results with tighter timelines and more limited resources. Donors and funders may also use the toolkit with their grantees, or to better understand what types of information are reasonable to request from social enterprises in health.
Hesperian Health Guides
Hesperian has just released an Arabic translation of its Cholera Fact Sheet. If you are working in Yemen, download and share this free, easy-to-follow, and highly illustrated resource explaining how to prevent and treat cholera. Also available in English, Spanish, French, Haitian Kreyol and Portuguese for those responding to cholera outbreaks in South Sudan and elsewhere.
International Rescue Committee, Women's Refugee Commission, CARE, Save the Children
On behalf of the Inter-agency Working Group for Reproductive Health in Crises (IAWG), the International Rescue Committee, in partnership with Care, Save the Children and the Women's Refugee Commission, released a report on the impact of family planning in emergencies. The report includes collaborative solutions and actions to be taken by countries, implementing agencies, and donors at the Family Planning Summit and beyond.
Concern Worldwide
This booklet has short, practical articles on topics like social enterprise for maternal newborn health, using mobile technology to support (and delight) community health nurses, and a health hotline service that has been so successful it's expanding to the entire country. JSI/SPRING Project
Between 2012-2017, USAID's SPRING project implemented an innovative, scalable, and sustainable community-based, multi-channel, integrated nutrition program in Bangladesh, establishing nearly 6,500 Farmer Nutrition Schools (FNS). Using a curriculum that draws on the ENA/EHA curriculum, SPRING reached more than 125,000 pregnant and lactating women and their children with nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive programming. ChildFund International, Save the Children, World Vision
For the first time, a review of official development assistance (ODA) to end violence against children has been done. The report found that in 2015, total ODA spending was $174 billion and of that, less than 0.6 percent was allocated to ending violence against children. This amounts to less than $0.65 per child in aid-receiving countries to end this scourge that affects more than one billion children every year.
