In Case You Missed It...
You are receiving this email because your child has participated in the past with the Johnston County Youth Livestock Show & Sale. Due to COVID-19, and because it was really time to make this change anyway, we moved the registration for the Show & Sale to an online format for 2021. The form link was emailed out in October and placed on our Facebook page.

We realize that emails can be missed, or sorted into Spam folders, and not everyone uses social media. There's still time to register to show any species except steers, that's why you're receiving this message.

Participants need to be registered in advance of the tagging dates for the species they wish to show.
Steers- December 4, 2020
Hogs- January 4-5, 2021
Heifers- January 15, 2021
Sheep and Goats- February 1-2, 2021
Payments are not required at the time of registration. Tag fees ($2/tag) will be withheld from participant's check after the Show & Sale. T-shirt orders will be taken after all animals are tagged in February.

The Show is scheduled for April 5-7, 2021 at the Johnston County Livestock Arena. I'm sure the question on everyone's mind is about the potential impacts to these plans from COVID-19. I certainly can't answer that question today, but the intention going forward is to have this event in-person if at all possible. The situation may develop in a manner that makes this easy to accomplish, or it may become more challenging, it all remains to be seen. If it requires wearing a mask, or standing apart, or using different parts of the facility; I personally would be willing to do far more than this to make the event happen for our youth. I hope you feel the same way.

The Show & Sale is open to all youth ages 5 (as of January 1 of the show year) through high school who are enrolled in Johnston County schools or whose primary residence is in Johnston County. Regardless of prior or current membership, all participants must enroll in 4-H Online after January 1 in order to participate.
