I am sure we are all aware of concerns over the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and best practices for preventing its co
ntraction
and spread.
We at Saint Paul's enjoy the closeness of our community and are quite comfortable with a warm hug or handshake before and after our worship and as we exchange the Peace. As concerns about transmission of the flu and Coronavirus continue I urge all to simply smile and greet one another verbally.
As well there have been questions about the common cup we share at the Eucharist. The meaning and power of the Eucharist is vital to our common life and spiritual connection to Christ himself. We will continue to offer receiving from the chalice, but ask that you DO NOT INTINCT the bread. Know that receiving the bread alone is to fully receive the fullness of the Sacrament. If this is your preference simply cross your arms after receiving the bread.
Remember that if you are showing symptoms of any illness that can be easily transmitted please stay home and be a part of our worship via the radio (WGAC 580 AM Radio and 95.1 FM Radio) and live streamed on our
Facebook page (@saintpaulsaugusta).
Finally, as always, please contact the parish office if you or someone you know is in need of our prayers.
Thank you all for helping out in whatever way you are able.

Lenten Book Study: Speaking Christian
9:30 AM, The Chapel
Beginning Sunday, March 1, 9:30
AM in the Chapel, we will explore Marcus Borg's look into why Christian words have lost their power and how they can be restored.
In his introduction Borg states "Christian language has become a stumbling block in our time. Much of its basic vocabulary is seriously misunderstood by Christians and non-Christians alike. Big words like salvation, saved, sacrifice, redeemer, redemption, righteousness, repentance, mercy, sin, forgiveness, born again, second coming, God, Jesus,
and Bible...
have acquired meanings that are serious distortions of their biblical and traditional meanings."
There will be two opportunities weekly for groups to meet to discuss this book. Please feel free to drop into either day of the week based on your schedule.
Books will be available ($10 donation and also available on audio-book) in the parish office. Questions,
contact Fr. Muir.

|
WEAVING GOD'S PROMISES
Location: The First Classroom in CMC
Our bigger children will immerse themselves in an Episcopal formation experience rooted in the stories of our faith as presented in John's Gospel. In this second of a three-year cycle, our children focus on
stories of individual encounters with Jesus, transformation in God's love, and the saints of the church. Our theme in this curriculum year is "Once we were no people, but now we are God's people." Every session incorporates theology and history from our Episcopal-Anglican perspective.

|
CHILDREN -- Ages 4s to 8, Kindergarten thru 2nd grade
|
GODLY PLAY
Location: The Godly Play Room
We take children and their relationship with God seriously and seek to provide both space to foster encounters with God and the language necessary to make meaning of those experiences. Within the Godly Play classroom, the Biblical narrative is lovingly presented to children using beautiful materials with an invitation to step into each story with awe and wonder. Children are then allowed time to respond to and reflect on their experience of the story.
