receives Beautification Award
We were thrilled to receive a Beautification Award from the Wilson County Beautification Association on September 1. We appreciate our volunteers who work hard to keep our grounds especially nice and full of La Vernia history!

Mulch. Texas gold. We need it to protect the award-winning garden at the museum and to help save water. If you have mulch to donate, please call us at 210-392-3281. Our trees, shrubs, and flowers will be

What a great question!
What is the mystery and history of those sandstone rocks used as building materials around early
La Vernia, Stockdale, and Sutherland Springs?
Recently we learned the answer to this question which was raised by Tambria Read, Chairman of the Sutherland Springs Historical Museum. The answer will surprise you! Read the answer from our Director and local Historian, Allen Kosub and his wife, Regina -- on our website!
Rescued from the heat!
When the museum a/c doesn't work, things on the wall begin to faint, and glue loses its grip, and that's really BAD for a museum! But, every time our a/c has had a meltdown, Jon Wayne Service Company has quickly come to our rescue, saving us and all of our artifacts!! Nothing was lost!

We appreciate the loyal support and professional service we have always received from Jon Wayne Service Company. Thank you for always taking great care of the La Vernia Heritage Museum!
Bricks are paving the way to the final goal at the La Vernia Veterans Memorial
Your brick orders will help us complete the final phase of the construction - a 21' obelisk in the center similar to the one pictured here.

"Bricks and bench donations will get us to our final goal," said LV Veterans Memorial Chairman, Walter Scull. "The wall inscriptions are not a fundraiser but the brick and bench orders will help us finish this beautiful project."

Bricks - $60 and $250
Benches - $2,500

Order a bench or brick today here.
