Stephen Ministry Commissioning
We thank God this day for 30 years of Stephen Ministry at Timothy Lutheran Church, as we commission four new Stephen Ministers: Hawa Bass, Cyril Loum, Rose Fox, and Noks Shabalala. Completing the training also are Kathy Willhite, Loretta Davis, and Larry Hawkins. We also celebrate two new Stephen Ministers for LASM: Barb O’Neill and Denise Pressley. Trainees from Stephen Ministries included: Jacob Larson, Emily Noonan, and Kaellyn and Ryan Duerr.
These people have been through specialized training in Christian caregiving and join a team of 13 Stephen Ministers. Stephen Ministers provide confidential one-to-one Christian care to people experiencing a crisis or going through a difficult time.
Please lift up our new Stephen Ministers in your prayers, asking that God bless their ministry and work through them to bring hope and healing to those they are serving. Pray also for the continued ministry of all Timothy's Stephen Ministers.

Congratulations Ashley!
Ashley Myers will be installed as Director of Christian Education at Grace – Knoxville on June 23, 2019. Ashley and her family (Rick, Terri, Amanda and Alisse) are long-time members. Ashley was confirmed at Timothy. Her confirmation verse is “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” Jeremiah 29:11, She is a graduate of Word of Life Lutheran School and Lutheran High School South Class of 2014. She attended Concordia University Texas, where she completed the DCE Program.
Ashley was a very active member of our church and youth group. She participated in the National Youth Gathering, Servant Events of Mission Possible & Joyful Hearts Camp, and many other youth events. If there was a youth event, she was very enthusiastically a part of it! She also served the congregation in many ways, including VBS and Mother’s Day Out.
As a member of Timothy, Ashley was enthusiastic about people and her faith, displayed leadership and teamwork, and had a great, cheerful personality and good sense of humor! Timothy was instrumental in her growth, and now we want to continue to support Ashley and let her know how proud we are of her. There is a BIG CARD of congratulations to Ashely which will be going around Sunday. Please take a moment to sign the card. We will send it with her family so she will receive it on her installation.
Ashley is the first of my many years of youth to become a DCE. Please join me in praying for her new vocation, adjustment to life in Knoxville, and her ministry. We thank God for preparing her here among us, and for the calling He has given her, and for the lives He will touch through her many gifts and faith!
Still Time for YOUR pic!
There is still time to submit your pictures. Remember you can win a $100 gift certificate. We have over 600 members and less than 100 photos so far! A simple selfie is fine! Send to office@timothystl.org
Ascension Day
Ascension Day is coming soon- Thursday May 30th . Take time to read the Ascension account in Acts 1:6-10. Take some time to reflect on the Ascension of our Lord. And if time permits please attend the worship service at Ascension Lutheran Church 7 p.m. that evening.  Our choir will be joining with a larger choir that evening so consider joining them. We’ve much to celebrate.
