Your TRIO board met at the Midwest Transplant Network offices in Kansas City, MO Oct 11 thru 12th |
. . . and along with revising the 20 year old TRIO by-laws and updating our Strategic Plan, several other important changes were enacted:
First, our long time managing services director, Sylvia Leach, retired after almost two decades of dedicated service to the TRIO organization and cause.
"TRIO offers Sylvia our sincerest thanks for her guidance and support those many years."
Second, TRIO vice-president Gary Green, resigned from the national board to take on the role of Executive Director, moving the TRIO national home office from Virginia to Florida.
Gary was also awarded a Lifetime Achievement award for his decades of service to the transplant community with NKF, AAKP, Team USA and now TRIO
Third, TRIO director, Mike Hatcher, president of our Kansas City chapter, was elected as the board's new vice-president, replacing outgoing Gary Green.
Fourth , of special note, at the board meeting awards dinner, recognition was given to Steve Okonek with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his many years of TRIO service both on the board and as past president of our San Francisco chapter
And finally, we are open to nominations for a new director to serve on the TRIO national board. Are you (or do you know someone whom you feel would be suited for that role) thinking of self-nomination? Click here for a downloadable description of what's involved in that three-year assignment.
