Recently Debbie incurred a tick bite that led to a medical response which landed her in the hospital. We personally thank you all for the prayers, calls, cards and best wishes for her continued recovery.
I pray no one has a similar experience. The particular tick borne illness is related to ticks found in our geographic region. As you may know, ticks are more prevalent in our area especially when there has been a warm winter. Protecting ourselves from ticks and mosquitoes has become a serious consideration as diseases have become more prominent from these critters. Prevention includes covering your body when inhabiting areas of plant growth (trees, grasses, shrubs-bushes and especially in parks, campgrounds and the like). The use of "Deet" is the most recommended chemical defense but be cautious and read the hazard and use labels when using it.
Debbie's unfriendly tick led to the specific tick-disease called: "ehrlichiosis". I commend to you the CDC website for more information about the numerous tick related illnesses and the best ways to protect yourselves from them:

Enjoy the outside and please be prepared to follow prevention guidelines for bug related diseases.

BIRTHDAY WISHES FOR IAN MCINTOSH REQUESTED
Ian McIntosh, husband of Joyce McIntosh, and both long time and well-loved members of Resurrection, will celebrate his 90th birthday. Ian has Alzheimer's and coupled with the stay-in-place recommendations and the inability to venture to most anywhere, both Ian and Joyce are quite secluded. How wonderful it could be if we surprised Ian with a deluge of birthday cards? Please consider sending Ian your birthday wishes at 441 Stageline Road, Apt. 272; Hudson, WI 54016.
BLESSINGS FOR ALL THE JULY ANNIVERSARIES AND BIRTHDAYS
Concerns for the increase in reported COVID cases may affect our dates for opening the church as we are seeing a resurgence of infectious activity in Missouri and the KC metro. I would still like us to look toward sometime in July to open with all the protective guidelines being practiced. I believe we have distribution of communion figured out as well as social distancing. I realize that it will be a personal decision based on comfort levels for how many choose to return any time soon. You need to hear from me that you making that decision is very appropriate. As much as I miss seeing everyone, I would be devastated if anyone contracted the virus from a church event. Safety is of the utmost priority in all of our planning. Please stay tuned.
EXPRESS YOUR CONCERNS BEFORE COMING BACK TO CHURCH
The re-opening planning team is interested in your suggestions and concerns that you would like addressed before you decide to come back to the church building for services. Please email Richard Conn at randgconn@sbcglobal.netwith your comments and ideas.
