The City of Round Rock’s Utility Billing site, RRTXWater.com, has been experiencing technical difficulties. While the site is down, payments can be made by calling our toll-free number at 1-855-894-2392, by mail or visiting City Hall, 221 E. Main. Accounts with bills due on Aug. 10 will not receive penalties or be disconnected as a result of late payment this month. The City is working closely with its software provider to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

MetroExpress Route 980 will resume service from Round Rock into downtown Austin starting Monday, Aug. 16. The route will travel from the Round Rock Transit Center, 300 W. Bagdad Ave., to the New Life Park & Ride and then continue into downtown Austin, traveling on the MoPac managed lanes and returning the same way. Service will operate weekdays to and from Round Rock, with one morning trip departing at 7 a.m. and one evening trip arriving back in Round Rock at 6:18 p.m.

The City of Round Rock's proposed property tax rate for Fiscal Year 2022 is $0.397 per $100 of valuation, 4.2 cents less than the FY 2021 City property tax rate of $0.439. However, the rate is an increase of 1.0 cent, or 2.5% above the No New Revenue rate of $0.387441, which is the rate that generates the same amount of revenue as the previous year based on the growth in property values from the previous year. Round Rock’s annual Chalk Walk Arts Festival is back in 2021 and will be held at Dell Diamond Oct. 1 and 2. The festival is set to take place from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1 and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2. Admission is free. Artists and vendors are encouraged to apply now to participate in this year’s festival and create some magic.

The Round Rock Express, in partnership with Peak Events, LLC and the City of Round Rock, are excited to announce that the Round Rock Classic will return to Dell Diamond from Feb. 25-27, 2022. The third annual event will feature the Arkansas Razorbacks, Indiana Hoosiers, Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns and Stanford Cardinal.

The City of Round Rock's 8th Annual Night Rider Family Bike Ride will start at dark on Saturday, Aug. 14 at the Rabb House adjacent to the Play for All Park. Night Rider is a glow bike ride utilizing the Brushy Creek Regional Trail System. Cyclists can ride up to 6 miles at their own pace, enjoying the light displays and glowing fun along the way. Cost is $10 per rider.

Yonders Point in Old Settlers Park will host a date night event including couples yoga and an outdoor screening of Dirty Dancing, starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20. Yonders Point, located just southwest of the baseball fields in Old Settlers Park, includes landscaping and trees, pergolas with swings, terraced seating and lounges. The events are free and open to the public.
