TAX REFORM ENCOURAGES END-OF-YEAR GIFTS
Before the law changes, consider taking advantage of current tax benefits with a year-end gift to the Community Foundation
Due to the recently enacted tax reform, 90% of taxpayers will no longer receive a benefit from deductions like charitable donations. This means your community foundation is losing a major incentive that helps build our capacity to improve life here in the Mahoning Valley, as many people will no longer itemize their deductions, including charitable ones. Additionally, we worry that the network of local nonprofits, many of which community residents rely on, will suffer as donors reduce or eliminate their contributions.

So what can you do?

Give Now |  Your philanthropy means more now than ever; consider increasing or making an additional gift to the Community Foundation before December 31st. You can choose to support the Community Foundation or else one of the many funds we hold for those local nonprofits. Contact your tax advisor to review the best philanthropic strategy for your personal situation.
