The AIA Oklahoma Conference on Architecture Planning Committee is looking for speakers for the 2020 Conference set to take place Thursday, October 1 and Friday, October 2 in Edmond, Oklahoma at the Edmond Conference Center. This year's theme is Detour: A Journey Off the Beaten Path.

NEWS OF INTEREST TO THE MEMBERSHIP

ASHRAE Invites AIA To May Meeting
The local ASHRAE Chapter would like to invite AIA to their May 6th meeting .....a discussion on The Future of the HVAC&R Industry- Trends, Risks, and Opportunities. The presenter will be Society VP Bill McQuade, P.E. The will be a virtual meeting using Go To Meeting.  

Bill McQuade is Vice President of Sector Services and the Sector Lead for the Applied Products. He comes to AHRI after 26 years working for the York International/Johnson Controls organizations in various technical, managerial, and regulatory roles.

He has a BSME, MSME, and MBA from Penn State University. The focus of his graduate research in the early 90s was the performance characteristics of HCFC and HFC alternatives to CFCs in air-conditioning equipment.
A regular attendee of UN climate and ozone meetings, he has provided input to the US, EU, and Chinese governments regarding ozone and climate regulation and legislation. He was selected by the U.S. Department of State and U.S. EPA to serve as an industry representative on the Indo-U.S. Taskforce on HFCs. Also, he has served as an expert on the U.S. Department of Energy HVAC Roadmap Collaboration Team (Oak Ridge National Lab).

Throughout his career, he has been very active member of our global industry. In the ASHRAE Society, he recently served as a Director-at-Large on the Board of Directors and is currently a Society Vice President for 2019. Over the years, he has served on various councils and committees. Most recently he chaired the subcommittee that developed the 2019-2024 Strategic Plan.
He has also participated in industry associations around the world, including: AHRI, European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE), European Alliance of Companies for Energy Efficient Buildings (EuroACE), The European Building Automation Controls Association (eu.bac), In addition, he served for nine years on the Board of the Alliance for Responsible Atmospheric policy, where he was the most recent Vice Chair.
Bill is an ASHRAE Fellow and received the ASHRAE Distinguished Service Award in 2012. He is also a past recipient of Richard C. Schulze award for Distinguished Service from AHRI. During his career, he has been awarded 11 U.S. and International patents related to chiller design, oil separation, and chiller controls algorithms.
