Expand Your Knowledge at Baden Powell Institute
Each year over 350 adult leaders come together in one place to make connections and learn new skills - Baden Powell Institute. Baden Powell was the founder of Scouting in America with a vision of teaching youth skills to prepare them for life. The Buckeye Council honors Baden Powell's technique of teaching others by conducting an annual training event called Baden Powell Institute, BPI for short. BPI is Buckeye Council's one-of-a-kind event where leaders from across the council come together to expand their knowledge of Scouting to better serve their den, pack, troop, or crew. The event features unique classes on topics leaders what to know about - Cub Scout Knife Safety, Shooting Sports, The Eagle Scout Application, Dutch Oven Cooking, and so many more! "I enjoy BPI because of the variety of classes available. There is always something new that I can learn," says Paul F. from Troop 42.
Not only is BPI a great place to learn more about topics that interest you, but it is a great opportunity to meet other leaders to learn from them. Chip T. from Troop 429 says, "I like the fellowship with other Scouters and the classes are helpful in seeing other perspectives on things."
There's new classes this year at BPI! Learn about Troop Trailer Management, Recognizing Youth who may be at risk of Suicide taught by Dr. Foley of the Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes Counties, and Fundraising for your Unit & Council. BPI isn't just for Scoutmasters, Cubmasters, or Den Leaders, any adult can attend! BPI is on

“BPI has provided me with additional training to help serve my Scouts better. The classes are both informative and fun. BPI is also a great place to meet and network with other Scouters.” – Chris C, Cubmaster of Pack 50
