CO-PRESIDENTS' LETTER
 Dear Saxe Families,

We hope your students' first day at Saxe was met with more smiles than frowns, more enthusiasm than eye rolls and more energy than yawns.

As the school year kicks off, it is clear that our Saxe administrators, staff and faculty worked tirelessly throughout the summer to prepare the building for opening day. We hope you enjoyed the new welcome signage currently adorning the front and back of the building, courtesy of new principal, Dave Gusitsch, and the PTC. We are also hosting a number of back to school events that will help make the transition, or return, to Saxe both more enjoyable and manageable.

Please visit our site to join the PTC and to get a glimpse of the event calendar. We look forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming events.

Cheers,
Susan Gelvin and Geri Mohr, Saxe PTC Co-Presidents
GREETINGS FROM OUR NEW PRINCIPAL
Dear Saxe Family,

The beginning of the new school year brings about many emotions. Excitement, nervousness, pride, optimism, and maybe a little bit of scared and stressed sprinkled in. This is true for students as well as parents (and maybe even educators). As you are aware, these emotions may often swing and shift in our still developing youngsters. We look forward to continuing the work that has been done in our district around recognizing these emotions and navigating the veritable obstacle course to foster a nurturing, caring environment that educates all-facets of the “whole-child.”

We are so fortunate to have a faculty and staff who care so deeply about your children, our students. They are a talented group of individuals who make up our collective “Team” at Saxe. Each person takes their role seriously and recognizes that “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” With that being said, we are fortunate to return to another school year with a building that looks tremendous ( thank you custodial and maintenance crew!), and has all of the many moving parts in place to readily welcome our most important asse t, your children.

We are also lucky to have such a strong supportive PTC (Parent Teacher Council) to help us maximize the learning experiences that we are able to provide for your children! Your participation in the PTC has a direct impact on the extras that allow us to continue to go above and beyond for our students. Thank you to each of you!

I am eagerly awaiting the opportunity to meet you as well as warmly welcome your children to their “home” for the duration of the 2018-19 school year. We will be working hard to continue to grow the positive culture and school climate at Saxe Middle School. It is my hope and goal for this to be your child’s best year yet!

Sincerely,
Dave Gusitsch, Principal
