A few Quotations from OUTCRY
There are a total of 35 environmentally-related quotes that appear at the beginning and at the end of each chapter in our new book that was uploaded to the publisher yesterday. Here are the first three - beginning with the one that follows the Foreword by Mother Nature:

Now for those new
outcries that I read about today on the Arctic News website. Entitled,
Arctic Hit By Ten Tipping Points
, this piece was posted four days ago on 4-14-20. It includes many revealing charts and graphs, such as the one below.
This graph shows the sea surface temperature anomaly in the northern hemisphere for the past 24 years. As you can clearly sea, that temperature has been warmer than the 20th century average every single year - with the warmest being now in April of 2020. See link to article below.
As you can read in the online article, the steadily increasing sea surface temperatures for the past 24 years have been steadily rising. Correspondingly, there has been a significant loss of sea ice albedo that is triggered by a loss of sea ice extent and sea ice volume.
Other tipping points include loss of terrestrial permafrost and a loss of carbon sinks - noting that even with the drop in industrial activity triggered by the pandemic, the loss in carbon sinks continues to climb. As the article stated:
While the COVID-19 lockdowns have caused emissions to come down, especially emissions associated with transport and industry - greenhouse gas levels still appear to be rising at an accelerating pace.
As this chart clearly shows, the
CO2 ppm levels continue to rise, with year-on-year increases of over 4 ppm in the last few readings. Close to hitting 418 ppm on April 9, we are now 68 ppm higher than the level that was long considered safe: 350 ppm (see
350.org for more info).
The Bottom Line.
The escalating
outcries
from nature reinforce the fact that we're running out of time to get any traction when it comes to slowing climate change enough to buy the time needed for designing, building and populating a completely new civilization that will enable us to actually
improve
the natural world.
This is the kind of harmony with nature that Dr. James Lovelock says is essential for our survival as a species. Quite honestly, things are not looking that good for our future - but as this quote suggests at the end of the final chapter of the book, we must never give up:
"If we were logical, the future would be bleak, indeed. But we are more than logical. We are human beings, and we have faith, and we have hope, and we can work."

Fulfillment begins on Wednesday, April 22,
the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.
E-books are far greener. For environmental reasons, our book is only available in an e-book format. As such, no trees have to die and the books do not need to be manufactured and shipped to customers. As a bonus, the books are less expensive, while providing readers immediate access to hundreds of references via hyperlinks that appear herein.
The books are also searchable and you can copy and paste excerpts - greatly enhancing the reading experience. For us, this decision was a no brainer, as we would feel like hypocrites if we had chosen to distribute this book in any other format.
Finally, if you have three electronic devices, you essentially get three copies for the price of one.
PS: You may be wondering how you can help promote the never-ending search for a way to save our species. You can get me in front of some audiences that you think might be ready to hear about the long-overdue, global "conversation" about our survival.
During this time of social distancing, I would be happy to speak to your group via a highly sustainable, virtual mode.
As always, I am just trying to spark a global conversation about what is needed. By sharing a vision of what I believe is possible, I hope to influence others to think bigger, better and bolder.

As for speaking, I continue to search for mainstream audiences who may have an interest in learning more about a realistically hopeful vision for our future - and their role in making that vision come true.
As such, I will travel anywhere for an opportunity to speak to one or more groups in each city that I visit. I will create a custom presentation for each audience and I only ask for travel expense reimbursement and a modest honorarium.
In the months ahead, I will continue to focus on the urgent need for a totally reinvented greening of our civilization - beginning with a model in the USA that could be applied globally over the next fifty years.
