Palmetto Bay Issues Emergency Order and County Mayor Imposes Countywide Curfew

PALMETTO BAY ISSUES EMERGENCY ORDER
|
|
|
- at or inside a private residence
- inside a private automobile
- at or inside any religious institution, without limitation
- inside a hotel, motel, or commercial lodging establishment guest room, or inside any apartment
- of children under the age of two years
- of persons who cannot wear a mask or facial covering due to an existing medical condition
- of an individual who is hearing impaired or an individual who is communicating with an individual who is hearing impaired
- where federal or state safety or health regulations prohibit the wearing of facial coverings
- of persons actively engaged in strenuous physical activity, either inside or outdoors
- of persons swimming or engaged in other activities which may cause the facial covering to become wet
- while persons are actively eating, drinking, or smoking
- while a person is receiving services which require access to that person’s nose or mouth
- A mask or other facial covering shall comply with the recommendations of the CDC, as such recommendations may change from time to time. The current CDC guidelines recommend wearing a mask or facial covering which snugly covers the face and mouth, whether store bought or homemade, which is secured with ties or ear loops, include multiple layers of fabric, allow for breathing without restriction, and which is able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or losing shape. CURFEW AND CLOSURES IN EFFECT
|
Miami-Dade Mayor Gimenez has signed a new Emergency Order mandating a curfew from 10 pm to 6 am starting today, July 3, 2020, until revoked. The curfew applies to unincorporated and incorporated areas of the county, including the Village of Palmetto Bay.

- Commencing on July 3, 2020, a curfew is imposed for all of Miami-Dade County, including incorporated and unincorporated areas, effective from 10 p.m. each night through 6 a.m the next morning, until cancelled or revised. During the period of such curfew, no person shall make use of any street or sidewalk for any purpose, except police, fire rescue, first responder, medical, health care, media, and utility repair service personnel. The curfew does not apply to persons:
- Working at essential establishments listed in attached exhibit A
- Returning directly to their homes from work at essential establishments or going directly to work at essential establishments from their homes
- Making deliveries from essential establishments
- Walking their dogs within 250 feet of their residences
County Mayor Gimenez also issued
Emergency Order 26-20
ordering the closure of movie theaters, concert houses, auditoriums, playhouses, bowling alleys, arcades, indoor amusement facilities, casinos (except casinos on sovereign tribal land.) Closures are in effect as of Friday, July 3, 2020.
