UC San Diego Arts and Humanities Moments May 2019
With Reza, visiting artist under the Roghieh Chehre-Azad Distinguished Professorship
Dear Colleagues and Friends,

The Division of Arts and Humanities closes the academic year highlighting the strength of our faculty members: their care in providing instruction and guidance to all students at the university; their dedication to inquiry and research that uncovers new components of equity, diversity and inclusion; and their passion for supporting the arts and humanities on our campus, in our region and beyond.

I am once again grateful for your commitment to making UC San Diego a destination. From hosting famed photographer Reza as part of the Roghieh Chehre-Azad Distinguished Professorship, to establishing the first Institute for Practical Ethics conference on the social implications of gene drives, we recognize the division as the center of learning and activity for our students, researchers and artists, and greater community.

I believe we all are key in developing a campus of inclusive excellence, and as a public institution, we have a duty to serve our entire population. As all-campus commencement draws near, I want to extend my sincerest thank you for your dedication to enhancing the student experience.
