Arlington Community,

We are embarking on a great adventure! Our new faculty is in full swing with orientation and training and are so excited to meet your children soon. Throughout this year, we will be focusing on the theme “Year of Adventure” with our faculty, students, parents, and community. We will conduct readings, seminars, activities, assemblies, and events that highlight our nine core virtues as we focus on this theme. We will be continually reminded that this is a year of adventure, and although we have a trajectory and goal that we are aiming for, we do not fully know what lies ahead or what may befall us. We are excited for the challenges and opportunities we will encounter and will face them with confidence and joy, knowing that we will face them and surmount them together. You are our journeymen and partners in this shared adventure, and we look forward to facing the future alongside you as our allies.

Please take note below of important information about an upcoming opportunity for your scholar to meet their teacher, including a unique event for our Kindergarten families. We have planned an additional event, Kindergarten Orientation, specific to our youngest scholars that will provide more information about the transition into formal schooling, what to expect, and time to drop off their school supplies. Kindergarten Orientation will take the place of Meet the Teacher Night for Kindergarten families. The remainder of our scholars, first through seventh grades, will attend Meet the Teacher night on Monday, August 9 to drop off their supplies and meet their teachers. For all families, we will be conducting a virtual orientation to talk much more specifically about drop off, pick up, operations, expectations, after school programs etc. As a reminder, much of this information is already provided on our website in our New Family Orientation. Looking forward to this great work!

Dena Franco
Assistant Headmaster

Hello! My name is Dena Franco, and I’m thrilled to join the Great Hearts Arlington family as Assistant Headmaster.

I have both middle and high school teaching experience, most recently as a Humanities teacher and the Humanities Department Chair in a local school district.

Although originally a Midwesterner, Dallas/Fort Worth has been my home for over two decades.

One thing that brings me joy is watching someone or something grow. Whether it’s my children, my students, my colleagues, or my many MANY plants, growth always fascinates and excites me.

I’m eager to meet your scholar and work with your family as we cultivate our Great Hearts Arlington community!
