Your Weekly STCS news & updates
Message from the Principal :

STCS Families,
We hope this newsletter finds you all well! As I mentioned last week many of you have reached out with questions regarding our distancen learning program, what the remainder of the year entails, and what next year will look like.
Below you will find two helpful documents.
  • The first one is the FAQs page that you can access here. I hope that it will shed some light and answer your questions.
  • The second is next year's 2020-2021 planning calendar. This will help when rescheduling your missed vactaions this year as it included our days off and breaks for next year. Please note some additional changes to the calendar below.

Please continue to keep you and your family safe and healthy by following the CDC's recommendations mentioned below. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/children.html as well as heading Governor Ducey’s “stay at home” order.

We wish you all a blessed stratr to the Easter Break and hope that it is filled with wonderful time as a family!
We continue to keep all our STCS families in our prayers.
-Mrs. Zander
Calendar updates:
The leadership team, Mrs. Zander, and Fr. Chuck have worked hard to plan for the 2020-2021 academic year. We have taken into account instructional time, parent preference, and input from the School Advisory Board and have made a few changes that we feel will maximize instructional time, student learning, and teacher preparation. These changes are listed below.
  • Starting next year, Fridays will no longer include lunch and a second recess. Instead dismissal will be at 12:20pm not 1:20pm. We suggest parents pack a “heavy snack” to get their child through till Closing Prayer which will begin at 12:10.
  • The first day of school for all students will be on August 11. This is an Orientation Day to allow students to “meet the teacher” and drop off any supplies. Families will be invited to “drop in during a set time” the rest of the day will be a final work day for faculty and staff. Details to be shared with parent before the start of the school year.
  • School will officially begin Aug 12
  • August 12, 13, & 14 will all be half days/early dismissal at 12:20 to ease into the year.
  • The last week of October, 26-30 will be Parent/Teacher Conferences with early dismissal (12:20) for our students.
  • Our last day of school is Friday, May 28. It will consist of an end of the year school mass at 8:30 followed by goodbyes and dismissal by 10:00am!

Attention Preschool, Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st Grade Parents:

With the extension of our Distance Learning Program the preschool through 3rd grade teachers have compiled packets for the students to use over the next two weeks. Please swing by Monday April 20 from 7:30am -10 am to grab these items.

**This process will be similiar to the previous pick up as we'll be distributing items in a "drive thru" manner. Cars will enter at the light, make a right into the front lot and receive the packets from the staff. T o maintain social distancing, please stay in your car and items will be handed to you through your window. Cars may exit out the northwest corner of the front lot or loop around and exit at the light. Details shown in the image below.

Attention all 3rd-8th Grade Families:
If there are any students in need of a chromebook to borrow for the remainder of the year please email Mrs. Zander@ jzander@stcs.us and we’ll have one ready for you during this pick up time.

Faith Formation at Home...
There are so many moments in our typical school day that our students experience God's presence and are reminded of their Catholic faith. Now that we are off campus the teachers and I want to ensure that our students are still provided opportunities for these wonderful moments. Throughout the remainder of our distance learning, teachers will continue to pray with and for their students daily. The students will continue to be invited to share their intentions, they will be asked to reflect on lessons about faith and encouraged to continue to deepen their prayer life at home.

One aspect that our faculty and staff definitely miss while away from campus is our community mass made up of the student body and so many of you! We encourage you to continue to share in building and molding your child’s faith at home. Finding time to attend mass virtually and participate in spiritual communion, praying the rosary as a family, watching or meditating on The Stations of the Cross throughout Lent, or even making bedtime prayer as a family a priority are just some of the ways to continue the faith formation of your child at home and grow as a family in God’s love. The teachers will continue to provide these simple but important pieces in their classes. Here are some helpful resources for you at home. We will continue to update this list each week!
