Sesquicentennial Special—Alumni Stories that Shape our History

The late Isaac Abramson finished his Master of Science in Ceramics Engineering at Lord Hall in 1946. Almost 30 years later, his son, Roberto Abramson, who hails form Minas Gerais, Brazil, went to Ohio State with his wife and 20-month-old son to pursue a two-year professional degree at the Fisher College of Business.

Congratulations to Brazilian Buckeyes who Graduated Last Month!

The Brazil Gateway would like to congratulate all the Buckeyes who graduated last month, including Brazilian student, Fernando Lima e Morato, who finished his PhD in Portuguese becoming the second only to do so in Ohio! "Being at Ohio State was extremely rewarding," said Lima e Morato. "Not only because of its resources but also because of the stimulating intellectual environment. Columbus also impressed me, a welcoming city, much more diverse than I imagined. A place where I made a lot of friends, inside and outside the university, and that I have no hesitation in calling home."

The Office of International Affairs sponsors an annual international photography competition open to all Ohio State students, faculty, staff, visiting scholars and alumni. All photographs must be the original work of the entrant, of high quality and taken outside of the United States. Photographers are invited to submit one photo in each category: People, Places and Arts and Culture. The deadline is October 7 at 12 p.m.

Roy-Dixon Appointed Executive Director of Global Gateways

Padmini Roy-Dixon has been appointed executive director of the Global Gateways, Ohio State's liaison offices in Shanghai, Mumbai and São Paulo. An experienced leader in new business development and financial management, she has spearheaded high-priority projects and engaged with a wide variety of stakeholders in the public and private sectors.

I've started the LL.M program at Moritz College of Law this fall and couldn't be happier. Sharing experiences with colleagues from around the globe and having the chance to learn from experienced and thoughtful professors is a dream come true.
