Be the change
Georgian became the first college in Canada to be designated a Changemaker Campus by Ashoka U in 2017. But just what is a changemaker and what do they do?

According to the changemaker glossary at the Centre for Changemaking and Social Innovation (CCSI), "A changemaker is one who desires change in the world and seeks out the knowledge and resources to make that change happen." They are problem solvers who deploy the tools in their arsenal to get the job done. Changemakers can take many different forms, like activists, investors, social innovators and researchers.
Georgian doesn't just make changes within our walls, but out in our community, as well. Each year, CCSI puts on several events that are available to the public. These events include their ChangedIT! workshops and their Changemaker in Residency Week - the most recent of which took place this week from July 19 to 23. During Changemaker in Residency Week, registrants had the opportunity to attend sessions that focus on a range of topics, from mental health to building a sustainable business.
