Health and Wellness
3 kinds of exercise that boost heart health

Student Spotlight: Rachel
Rachel received the BIC Educational Foundation scholarship for students in HCC’s Center for Hospitality and Culinary Studies. She also participated in HCC’s Career Links program for single parents, which led her to a scholarship from the Business Women’s Network of Howard County. She said, "This has been a really good experience...I’ve had a lot of support, and I learned a lot.”

Fueling Dragons Spotlight: Food Pantry
As more students return to campus the need to help fight food insecurity will increase. The campus food pantry provides access to nutritious food and personal care items and is open to only Howard Community College students. Help restock HCC's food pantry by bringing a canned food item to Thursday's training at Feet First or on race day.

Organizations are also invited to host food drives or donation drives to support the food pantry. For more information, contact pantry@howardcc.edu or learn more about the Fueling Dragons program HERE.
Sponsor Spotlight: Hamel Builders

Founded in 1988 and based in Elkridge, Hamel Builders is a premier multifamily renovation and new construction firm in the mid-Atlantic region. Hamel has been donating to Howard Community College for over 20 years. Ed Hamel said, "It’s almost impossible for a working family to send a kid through school, and where do you invest your money better than a college at the community level?”
