Pest Management Solutions for Specialty Crops and Specialty Uses
Greetings!

In June, several beneficial outcomes for specialty crop growers were highlighted. In addition to IR-4 facilitating crop protection tools for coffee borer, hops downy mildew, and root weevils for caneberries, the Weed Science Society of America showcased IR-4 activities to improve weed management in watermelon production. For environmental horticulture crops, summaries for two efficacy projects - bittercress and borers, beetles, & white grubs - were prepared along with crop safety summaries for isoxaben and cyclaniliprole + flonicamid. On the regulatory front, tolerances were approved for fenpyroximate, a miticide.
