A NOTE FROM THE LIBRARY DIRECTOR
Derek Wolfgram, Library Director of Redwood City Public Library, recently wrote a message to Redwood City Library Foundation supporters about the library's response to COVID-19. Below is a excerpt of that message, and a link to read more.
"As we made the difficult decision to reduce library services, one of the huge worries we heard from the education community, the business community, and our most vulnerable residents was the loss of Wi-Fi access. One million people per year log into our wireless networks at the four libraries, and in the fall of 2017, with support from the Redwood City Library Foundation, the Library launched a program called Bridging the Digital Divide to allow home checkout of hotspots (personal Wi-Fi devices) to support residents with limited or no connectivity at home."
Redwood City Library Foundation is working hard to meet community demand by raising funds for more hotspots. Read how you can support the community during these unsettling times here.
