Greetings,

We hope everyone had a great and safe Thanksgiving. As we enter December, we are pleased to provide you with the latest issue of the Hot SHEET newsletter. Please note – if you subscribe to receive the physical copy of the Hot SHEET, we will be temporarily suspending our distribution. Due to COVID restrictions, spikes in cases in our area (and in our building), and anticipated Holiday interaction with friends and loved ones, we have decided it will be safer for everyone in the organization, and everyone who receives our materials, to stop sending the physical copies for the time being. We will reexamine this on a month-to-month basis, and will start sending the physical copies again as soon as it is safe to do so. We will continue to send out the digital version of the newsletter during this time. (You can always access current and past issues at https://ustoo.org/Read-the-HotSheet-Newsletter).

Tuesday, December 1st was Giving Tuesday. It was also the day we launched our annual Holiday Hope campaign. Please consider donating to help Us TOO so that we can continue to provide educational resources and support services at no charge to those affected by prostate cancer. We could not do what we do without you! A special thanks goes out to Kathie Houchens who provided the cover art to this year’s card, as well as a Quote of Holiday Hope written with her husband Dave. You can donate at www.ustoo.org/holidayhope2020. Those who donate $250 will receive a special, limited edition signed and numbered art print of Kathie’s beautiful cover art.

Are you in need of prostate cancer support? Find a virtual support group, which you can join from any location at https://ustoo.org/pdfs/Virtual_Support_Group_List.pdf.

On December 30th, Dr. Jonathan Epstein, Chair of Urological Pathology of The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, will present a webinar concerning critical issues of grading prostate cancer for patients considering active surveillance. This is the fourth in a series of webinars focusing on active surveillance jointly presented by AnCan and Us TOO in 2020. Register at https://bit.ly/3hAMwHd.

On November 19th, we offered the third and final in our 2020 series of Prostate Cancer Connections webinars. This webinar episode addressed the topic of imaging related to prostate cancer. We thank participating experts: Dr. Brian T. Helfand - Chief of Urology of NorthShore University HealthSystem; and from Halo Diagnostics: Ms. Bernadette Greenwood - Chief Research Officer, Dr. John F. Feller - Chief Medical Officer, and Dr. Jeffrey Herz - Board Certified Urologist. We also thank our generous sponsors: Blue Earth Diagnostics, Janssen Oncology, and Halo Diagnostics. Please keep an eye on your email for the link to the video, which we will be sending very soon.

To check out video from our previous two Prostate Cancer Connections webinars, visit https://ustoo.org/ustoo-video for the topic of Genetics and Genomics, recorded on October 15th, and for the topic of “The Talk” on Prostate Cancer and how to talk to sons and daughters about the disease, recorded on June 30th.

On September 13th, we held the SEA Blue 2020 National, Virtual Prostate Cancer Walk and Run. This was certainly a challenging year to put on an event, but we are very happy with how SEA Blue turned out in light of COVID restrictions. While operating safely, we were able to exceed expectations for fundraising and we had national, virtual participation to build support, education, advocacy, and awareness for those affected by prostate cancer. The event centered around a small, socially distant gathering with information and entertainment. Video is now available at https://ustoo.org/ustoo-video. Photos are also posted on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.3782002351830781. Be sure to tag yourself or post any photos that you might have.

Thank you for reading. We wish the best to you, your family and friends this Holiday Season.
