Maccabi Pathways Program helps Bialik athletes to success at interschool event
After weeks of training in the early mornings and lunchtimes, and two school holiday sessions, Bialik placed 3 rd in the EISM Athletics Carnival on April 30 th . Congratulations for this great achievement. The Athletics program at Bialik, as a preparation for the EISM competition, was possible thanks to the support of Maccabi through the Henry Jolson Pathways Program. The Athletics sessions were organised by Steve Cain, coach of the Maccabi Athletics Club, and delivered by David Brock (in the photo, encouraging one of the Bialik students during the EISM Carnival). Maccabi will continue supporting sport programs at Jewish Schools during the rest of the year. For details please contact Martin Jona, Pathways Program Coordinator mjona@macvic.com.au
Another Awesome Next Gen L.E.A.D. session
L.E.A.D group had the privilege of having Jonathan Schauder, a trained psychologist, experienced facilitator, mediator and executive coach who studied at Havard, speak to us at our 2nd workshop.
We learnt about the Leadership Toolkit which consists of 6 different aspects which establish an effective leader. It was an extremely engaging discussion with a lot of relevant information to take take in not just as future leaders but as friends, family members, work colleagues and students. Then we looked at putting this leadership framework into action by applying it to a Maccabi case study presented by Maccabi panellists, Dean Mohr and Romy Katz . Overall it was a really amazing session and we are looking forward to next month's workshop.
Yom HaShoah Commemoration Project 2019 #justlikeyou
To mark Holocaust Memorial Day (Yom HaShoah) in 2019, the Jewish Holocaust Centre (JHC) is partnering again with Maccabi Australia to remember the atrocities of the Holocaust and to remember – “never again”. This April and May, numerous Maccabi sporting clubs across VIC, NSW, WA & QLD will undertake various commemorations to further raise the awareness of the Holocaust. We are reminded that just like the members of Maccabi today, many of the survivors and those that perished in the Holocaust were also avid sportsmen and women.

The message is simple: The only thing that separates them from you is time… they were #justlikeyou.

AJAX Junior FC - A Family Club
In a true example of AJAX’s values as a family club, seven sons of former junior coaches will continue their fathers’ legacies as they take the reins of their respective teams in 2019.
This year we are excited to see over 480 kids represent AJAX from U8s to U16s. For the first time we have a total of 22 teams. Girls participation continues to grow as we look to field three teams at U12s, U14s and U16s.

AJAX FC Seniors Round 3
AJAX’s first home game of the year didn’t go as planned against visitors Mazenod Football Club. It was AJAX’s inaccuracy that was the tale of the day, kicking 22 behinds, proving to be costly at the final siren.
