Faculty Member Funded to Create Toothbrush for the Disabled

Dr. Maxine Strickland received nearly $95,000 in funding from Rutgers University's Tech Advance to work with NJIT designers on the invention of a toothbrush for people with disabilities. Her idea was inspired by time she spent volunteering at the Matheny School for the developmentally disabled in Peapack-Gladstone . LEARN MORE

Steven Vassell

During his first two years at RSDM, Steven Vassell worked as a landscaper to support his wife and two children, volunteered at a soup kitchen and served as a deacon of his church. RSDM Treats Underserved Patients Worldwide

Students on a mission in the Dominican Republic
RSDM's dental missions reach underserved patients in the U.S. and overseas, often in places where there are no dentists for many miles and where poverty prevents patients from buying a toothbrush and toothpaste. Students, faculty and alumni embark on three yearly missions over Spring Break. Trips include work in Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Bangladesh. LEARN MORE

Scholarship Challenge Offers 2-1 and 1-1 Matches

Network and Rock Out at May 3 RSDM Reunion

Catch up with old friends and classmates at the Dental School Reunion and NJDA "Dentistry Rocks" Dinner on May 3 at the Marriott Hotel at Newark Liberty Airport. Our special honorees are the classes of 1969, 1979, 1989, 1999, 2009 and 1994, but all alumni are welcome. Join your fellow alums and Dean Feldman from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. as we toast RSDM's new alumni officers. Stay to dine and dance from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the combination RSDM reunion and NJDA "Dentistry Rocks" event, which features RSDM student cover band Elektrosurge, led by faculty member Dr. Peter DeSciscio.
