Circle Time Song of the Day
Bake a Matzah
(This is a great song to sing during Passover!)
Bake a matzah, pat, pat, pat.
Do not make it fat, fat, fat.
Bake a matzah, pat, pat, pat.
Bake a matzah, just like that.

Bake a matzah, pat, pat, pat.
Try to make it flat, flat, flat.
Bake a matzah, pat, pat, pat.
Bake a matzah, just like that.

Fine Motor Practice
  • Passover Sand Dough Sensory Play: The Jewish people had to work hard all day long when they were slaves in Egypt. What better way to recreate the concept of the hard work of making bricks in the desert than by making your own!
    • For this activity, you will need 4 cups of all-purpose flour and 1/2 cup of baby oil.
    • You will also want any/some of these items: shovels, ice cube trays, sand molds Megablocks or Legos (they make great "brick" molds), buckets, and containers. You can even add little people if you would like!
    • Combine your ingredients. Your dough may be a little crumbly on its own, but when pressure is applied, it does hold a shape nicely.
Art
  • Make Your Own Pretend Matzah: This activity is great for dramatic play. You can make your own pretend matzah in many ways. You can use card stock, paper, a paper plate, or construction paper. To create the look and texture of matzah, you can do a crayon rubbing over the surface of a Lego or Duplo block. If you do not have either of those, you can create your own textured surface by dotting glue in a grid across a piece of cardboard and rubbing over that once the dots are dry and bumpy.
Science / Cooking

Gross Motor Play
  • Passover Story Obstacle Course: Create an obstacle course around your house or outside to represent the Passover Story. You can use pillows, chairs, blankets, etc. Have your child act out the plagues, while they go through the course. Jump like frogs and fly like bugs! Challenge your child to get through the course to cross the Red Sea and escape Egypt!
Outdoor Time
  • Nature Faces: Go on a nature walk outside in your neighborhood or backyard. Collect rocks, twigs, sticks, or other items you see lying around. Make silly faces using those materials.
