Spring has finally sprung!
|
And I am so happy that it has! How about you? Even though we still have to be extra careful and continue to wear our masks and keep our social distancing, it seems we are moving in the right direction. Hopefully things will continue to open up, and those of us who have now been vaccinated can spend more time with our close friends and family in the near future.
Meanwhile, April programming is pretty much status quo around here, except we have three more Tap Heritage Sessions coming up that celebrate the lives and careers of Charles "Cookie" Cook, Leslie "Bubba" Gaines and Charles "Honi" Coles. (Check out the schedule below for all the details). This series has been great fun and the participation has been significant. Of course we also continue to offer our ongoing virtual Youth & Adult Classes.
Then in May, June & July things really start to pick up! Don't forget National Tap Dance Day is May 25th and I'm sure we will be celebrating through Tap TV. Any special requests?
In June, our annual Youth Program Year-End Concert will actually take place on the Circle Line this year, so everyone in that program and their families are REALLY excited to FINALLY have an "in person" performance opportunity! It's been long overdue.
Please take note that early bird registration has been launched for both Tap City 2021 July 5-10, 2021 & our annual Tap Teacher Training Program July 12-18, 2021. (Both going virtual this summer)
So, what can I say? All is good, all is working, and all is, well, ..............springy!

Check out this sweet little concert that was filmed for Cyprus Television in a great theater where Brenda Bufalino & members the American Tap Dance Orchestra performed in 1992.
This performance was just one of many during an Eastern European Tour that was sponsored by The United States Information Agency. As US ambassadors the ATDO toured for (5) weeks throughout Turkey, Cyprus, Poland, Latvia & Estonia.
