Celebrating Voting Rights at the Library
Marin County Free Library

To commemorate the centennial of the 19th Amendment and efforts to achieve voter inclusion, Marin County Free Library will host a series of public talks starting later this month. Library Director Sara Jones noted, "As a library system, we are thrilled to be a leading partner in the Marin celebration of the 19 th Amendment as an important milestone in our nation’s democracy as well as modern voter rights and engagement today."
Philly Says Goodbye to Overdue Fines

Just in time for Valentine's Day, the City of Brotherly Love went fine free on Feb. 14! Free Library of Philadelphia President and Director Siobhan Riordan said, "By saying goodbye to fines, we’re welcoming back the nearly 88,000 cardholders who are currently unable to take full advantage of the library."
Lexington Librarian Helps Hundreds Trace Their Ancestries

Librarian Johnna Waldon is known throughout Lexington for her special ability to help people uncover their family history. Through one-to-one assistance and by leading classes and workshops, Waldon has helped hundreds of library patrons build their family trees. A local news station, WKYT, sat down with Waldron to highlight her unique skill set and its impact on the community.
