The MEDC was formed to assist and to serve the Village of Montgomery community. Hopefully, some memorable words of encouragement can help during these difficult times. I wanted to share a quote that keeps running through my head and gives me hope during this crazy time. I hope it does the same for you. "In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity." -Sun Tsu . Don't be afraid to reach out for help or guidance . We are here to find help and get us through this Coronavirus Pandemic. Working together during a time of change
According to CNN- Coronavirus, just the word strikes fear into our hearts. This new virus is wrecking havoc on our unprepared world. As documented by CNN health, the statistics range from it's origin and how the virus can infect humans. By now, there are many opinions on how this epidemic has disrupted our worlds.
Let us take time to thank all the people who cannot work from home. Those who continue to be exposed. Those who help support and provide services during this scary time. Let us work on ways we can get through this and help each other. I want to focus on the positive partnerships that have been formed. Within 24 hours we joined together to work as a team. We wanted to provide our residents and businesses resources as quickly as possible.
As I look back at our last newsletter, I reached out to our business community and asked what changes they expected to see in the year ahead. I am sure at that time none of us could of even imagined or predicted what was in store for us in the weeks or months ahead.
I think what we need right now is inspiration. I know I do.
I have attached a link that I hope will encourage you , as we work through this together:

While we encourage social distancing, the right attitude and any act of kindness can help make a huge difference in someone's life. We have no idea how everyone is being affected or what each individual is going through. There is always someone hurting a little more.
May we all find a way to see some light in all this darkness. Be safe and stay home if you can.
Waubonsee College
The Waubonsee Small Business Development Center, (SBDC) worked with us immediately every day helping to assist clients and condensing data as we all worked through emails, webinars and a great deal of data. The goal was to work together and eliminate duplication of work and data. We are very fortunate to have such great working relationships with our partners and surrounding communities.

Help us welcome the Reich Brothers
A New Beginning
A great deal of time and effort was placed into the future of the Caterpillar site and their remaining employees. We are looking forward to working with Reich Brothers and their team on the redevelopment of this site. We would like to thank everyone who helped make this a win-win situation for our region. This is another great example of a positive end result working together as a team. Special thanks to the task force and the Caterpillar team for finding the perfect buyer.

A Heartfelt Thank You!

Special Thanks to the Aurora Convention and Visitors Bureau who immediately reached out and helped us get the word out on our local businesses and our local restaurants who could provide some services during a very crucial shut down. This was a huge challenge and indeed an immediate response which has been a great help to us all! Thanks so much!
Oswego Community Unit School District 308 donated gloves, masks and sanitizer to Rush Copley. "During this time of crisis, the district is grateful that we can contribute to area partners who are serving our community, " superintendent John Sparlin said during a press statement. The district has also lent equipment to the Police department and Sheriffs office. They also created a resource page with links for online learning and announcements. Thank you for being a great partner!
