JOURNEY THROUGH JULY WITH SCOPE!

Let's Journey through July with SCOPE by celebrating the people and partners who make camp possible for ALL children through SCOPE.
COURTNEY PIERCE
SCOPE Board Member
Courtney Pierce joined the SCOPE board of directors in 2019 after her father and SCOPE Co-Founder, Doug Pierce passed the torch on for Courtney to continue the Pierce legacy of changing children's lives through the experience of overnight summer camp. After hosting multiple in person events including Cycle4SCOPE, Courtney dreamed up a fantastic and delicious virtual fundraising event to support SCOPE this winter! She teamed up with Dana Pollack of Dana’s Bakery for our 1st ever Cookies for a Cause initiative. This virtual, at-home baking event gave Pierce Country Day Camp families and SCOPE supporters intimate access to bake together, learn tricks of the baking trade with Dana, have a ton of fun and bake incredibly delicious S'mores cookies!

Courtney's efforts continue all year long and now that camp is in session, Pierce Country Day Camp is preparing to host their 4th Annual Swim-a-thon on July 21!

In true Pierce family tradition, Courtney shares her commitment to making camp accessible for all children with her 3 sons and the ever-growing Pierce family. We look forward to supporting this next generation of philanthropists!
TYLER AND LOGAN WIT
SCOPE Mitzvah Project
After learning about SCOPE during the summer of 2019 while the SCOPE team was
on a visit at KenMont and KenWood Camp, Logan and Tyler Wit decided then and there that they wanted to do what they could to support SCOPE. “Camp provides us with independence, teaches us how to be part of something bigger and most of all gives us friendships that are like no other. Knowing how important camp is to us, we want to be able to provide at least one child the same opportunity." Tyler and Logan shared this sentiment as they built out their celebratory milestone, Bnai mitzvah project that has helped to raise over $3,000 to provide two more camperships THIS summer for less fortunate children to attend overnight summer camp in partnership with SCOPE.

Tyler and Logan created their gives back project page for their friends and family to
support their efforts and learn more about SCOPE. They also shared an Amazon Wishlist from one of SCOPE’s partner camps as an additional way to give back. We are so proud of Tyler and Logan because their impact added up to not one but two more camperships for children to enjoy camp THIS SUMMER. Thank you!
NORTH SHORE HOLIDAY HOUSE, NEW YORK
SCOPE Northeast
Since 1914, North Shore Holiday House has provided free summer experiences to more than 200 girls each summer. Each session, up to fifty-five campers are given the opportunity to develop self-confidence, independence, and teamwork skills. Their programs are designed to educate, inspire and empower their campers. Their on-site thrift shop is open from September through June, when camp is not in session, with proceeds going towards their camp operations. In addition to the regular curriculum, counselors lead campers in a variety of specialized activities such as languages, zumba, traditional dancing, and martial arts. The small size of their camp affords the girls the personal attention of the counselors and staff in a nurturing atmosphere.
