Old Donation Episcopal Church

February 23, 2020
Last Sunday after the Epiphany

Weekly Chimes

Hello Old Donation!

It seems impossible, but Lent is almost upon us. This coming Sunday will be our last chance to say 'Alleluia' in church until Easter, so be sure to get ready and say it loud and often! I'll be leading worship in the Church, and Bob will be in the Gathering.

But, it's not Sunday yet... it's Wednesday. Which means we'll be having our Supper and Studies program. We've spent some time talking about liturgical theology, and the history of the Episcopal Church, including what it really means to be "catholic." Tonight, Bob will conclude the conversation with some discussion about how we are "Protestant," why not all Episcopal churches are exactly the same, and what all this means about faithfulness. He will answer any of the questions you might have about what's been covered the past two weeks. We'll have lasagna for dinner, for what promises to be a wonderful evening. I hope you'll join us!

Finally, as mentioned previously, our children's Sunday school classes will be joining together in the music room this Sunday for an outreach project with Bill and Melissa Waide, preparing blessing bags for the homeless. We are still collecting bars of soap, bottled water, granola bars, and socks! Please feel free to bring them in anytime before 9:30 Sunday morning.

Looking forward to seeing everyone around!
