Add These to Your 2022 Competitions
USHJA Young Jumper Championships Qualifying Class

Five-, 6- and 7-year-old horses must qualify for the new USHJA Young Jumper Championships through designated USHJA Young Jumper Championship Qualifying Classes. Results from the classes count toward the regular Young Jumper division National and Zone Horse of the Year points, as well as Championship qualifying.

Add a Qualifying Class to your USEF Competition License in order for your horse show to count as a qualifier! Competitions only need one Young Jumper class in their schedule to have their horse show count; there is no minimum number of classes to hold a Young Jumper division or Qualifying Classes. When renewing your license for 2022, simply check the USHJA Young Jumper box on the USEF license application to be added as a qualifier. After your license has been approved, submit your prize list and schedule with the correct section codes and class numbers that will serve as Qualifying Classes.
Young Hunter Sections

Have you added Young Hunter sections to your competition? New for 2021:
- Height changes to be more appropriate for developing hunters:
  • Young Hunter 5 & Under 2'9"
  • Young Hunter 6 & Under 3'
  • Young Hunter 7 & Under 3'3"
- Cross entry restrictions removed: horses may cross enter between heights or outside of the Young Hunter sections with no penalty
- More management flexibility: combine, divide, or run sections concurrent with Green Hunter classes. Judges hold 2 cards, horses jump once and get pinned for each section they enter. No need to add extra classes to an already full schedule!
USHJA Pony Hunter Derby Championships Qualifying Class

All ponies must place 1-12 overall in at least one USHJA Pony Hunter Derby to qualify for the USHJA Pony Hunter Derby Championships. A USHJA Pony Hunter Derby must be added to your USEF Competition license in order to host a Qualifying Class. Upon the conclusion of your show you must submit the results and declarations to USEF and USHJA, in addition to the per horse fee to be paid to USHJA.

Get involved with this exciting, growing program and add a USHJA Pony Hunter Derby to your 2022 license today! Upon request, USHJA will provide ribbons—please contact Eva Jackson at ejackson@ushja.org to place your order at least 60 days prior to the desired arrival date.
USHJA 3’3” Adult Jumping Seat Medal Qualifying Class

Qualifying classes for the USHJA's first adult Equitation Final open to Amateur riders 18 and over, the USHJA 3’3” Adult Jumping Seat Medal, began August 2, 2021. Only three riders are needed to fill the class. The existing USHJA 3'3" Jumping Seat Medal class for Juniors may be combined with the Adults to fill either section; just note the riders’ section on your results to USEF.

Add this new qualifying class to your competition!
Diversity and Inclusion Resources
The USHJA Diversity and Inclusion Advocacy Committee has compiled resources to make your competition a more diverse and inclusive environment.
USHJA Jumper Classic Overlay
You can run the USHJA Jumper Classic as an overlay! Here’s what you need to know:
  • The Prize List needs to indicate that the USHJA Jumper Classic will be an overlay class with a break down of the entry fee and prize money distribution for both the regular class and the overlay.
  • The specifications in the prize list for the USHJA Jumper Classic overlay must be in compliance with the published USHJA Jumper Classics specifications and compatible with the regular class it will be run with.
  • The results must also reflect this overlay.
  • All entries for the USHJA Jumper Classic must fill out a USHJA Jumper Classic Declaration form and these forms must be submitted with the results.
