CURRENT COMMUNITY MITIGATION LEVEL
SUBSTANTIAL TO SHELTER IN PLACE

The health, safety and welfare of our property owners, residents, employees, visitors and businesses are priority one for Hot Springs Village. We encourage social distancing or sheltering in place to prevent COVID19 from spreading in our community.

We also encourage supporting local businesses as can safely be achieved.  Several are offering delivery services, online services, gift certificates and other creative methods to serve their customers and we applaud their efforts.

We encourage you to visit our webpage  https://explorethevillage.com/members/hsv-covid-19/ that is being used to provide the latest updates, including closings and postponements.

Good Neighbors
The Village Church of Christ has developed a Task force to respond and serve the entire Village with assistance. If you are self-quarantined and in need of someone to pick up medications or food for you, we have volunteers standing by. We have had a physician assist us in establishing a protocol to ensure safety measures are adhered to.

All you need to do is call our church office at 501-922-2827 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Thursday or 9 a.m.-noon on Friday. One of our secretaries will relay your need to our Task Force.  After hours you can leave your name and phone number for a follow-up call.  We are here and ready to serve.

State of Arkansas
The Arkansas Economic Development Commission is helping businesses and employees combat the effects of COVID-19. They have compiled a list of programs and resources that they will continue to update. Read more here.

In his daily update, Gov. Asa Hutchinson said that two more Arkansans have died from COVID-19, bringing the total to 12. He said 643 people in Arkansas are affected by the virus with 66 hospitalized. The virus has spread to four more counties.

Hutchinson addressed whether Arkansas will issue a stay-at-home order. In Arkansas many business closures are already in effect, along with schools and nursing home access. But Arkansas does not have an across-the-board stay at home order like the majority of states. He said under such an order, 700,000 Arkansans would still go to work because they are still considered essential. He said that it would result in additional couple of hundred thousand Arkansans being out of work. He said that the state is keeping an eye out for additional data.

Hutchinson also discussed steps that the state prisons are taking to prevent the spreading of the virus.

You can see the governor's daily COVID-19 update here.

See the Governor's March 26 proclamation here. Although Gov. Hutchinson has not issued a shelter in place order at this time for Arkansas, Hot Springs Village residents are especially at risk given age, level of activity and travel patterns.

We would call your attention to the 6-foot rule in the Governor's proclamation, which is a requirement whether indoors or outdoors. We continue to receive reports about this portion of the proclamation not being followed, especially at the beaches and boat launching ramps. In response, today, additional steps were taken by Compliance staff and the HSV Police Department to continue monitoring such locations to reduce this health threat.

Recreation Areas, Beaches & Boat Launching Ramps
Until further notice, all Hot Springs Village outdoor recreational areas, including beaches and boat launching ramps, are only open to members and their guests who are in the company of that member. Please do not call in guests to utilize these areas without accompanying them.  Continued outdoor group gatherings without 6-foot spacing between individuals will result in the closure of the area.

Travelers from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, New Orleans, International locations
Any member arriving in the Village from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, New Orleans or an international location is asked to self-quarantine for 14 days.

For the safety of all residents, we ask that members not invite guests into the Village who have traveled from those locations within the past 14 days.

Saline County
Saline County Judge Jeff Arey participated in a White House COVID-19 briefing call with Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.   Arey said Fauci, was very direct when he spoke that even though the Nation has some dark days or weeks ahead, the measures currently being taken to stay at home, wash hands often, keep surfaces clean and the practice social distancing of 6 feet or more will turn the trend down and flatten the curve. He reminded local elected officials that they have tremendous influence in their communities to educate the public on the importance of these things. They should also continue to promote President Trump's "30 Days to Slow the Spread" initiative. Read more about the initiative here

Arey has had a few questions asking how is the County handling any enforcement of the Governor's Directive Order (read here) on limitations on gatherings of more than ten (10) people. The Sheriff has directed his staff to educate any group in possible violation of the Governor's directive and ask them to comply or disperse.  If they refuse then the officer could write a citation.

RV Park
The Hot Springs Village RV Park will only take reservations from Members only at this time. RV Park reservations can be made by calling the Ponce de Leon Center at 501-922-4231. Members from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, New Orleans, or international locations must not have traveled from those location within the past 14 days. The RV Park process is contact-less, with reservations, payment and registration taking place over the phone.
