The soccer program showed just how dominant they are this week. The Frosh/Soph team won a tight game against another top team in the league Monte Vista. The teams had to get back to work on Monday to make sure they were ready to take on another talented program, San Ramon Valley. Tuesday the JV and Varsity teams were fired up and ready. JV played tough and with a tremendous amount of heart but ended in a 1-1 tie. The Varsity game was an out right battle with neither team wanting to give an inch. The Cougars prevailed with the only goal coming in the last two minutes on a free direct kick from Lexi Zandonella.

On Wed. the Frosh/Soph team solidified their League Champion Title with their 1-0 win over SRV. Thurs. 2/13 brought Cal High to the CAC to match up with our JV and Varsity squads. JV won decisively 4-1, securing their title as EBAL Champs! Varsity played a phenomenal game beating Cal 1-0 and taking home the League Title!

What a season... All three teams won League! Congrats to all!
From the beginning of the year until now the basketball squad has truly become a team, both on and off the court. Fri. Feb. 7, they traveled to Danville to take on Monte Vista. JV set the tone early and had a solid win over the Mustangs, 70-39. The Varsity team showed their grit and determination fighting till the bitter end in a 53-49 win. It was back to work on Monday to ensure the last two games of the season went according to plan. All three teams traveled down to Dougherty Valley on Tuesday and returned with a clean sweep of the Wildcats.

Thursday was bittersweet as we had to say goodbye to six amazing seniors and their families who have given so much to Cougar Basketball over the years.  We wish these ladies all the luck in the world in their future endeavors: Jayme Blackard, Annie Bonderer, Tori Delecroix, Kimani Holloway, Brooke Romeo, & Bella Zumbo.

Back to the final games of the regular season against California HS. The Freshmen team started the night off with a big win. Followed with another win by the JV squad. The game of the night was definitely the Varsity matchup. The Grizzlies were up 34-27 at half, but the Cougars came out of the locker in complete game mode and whittled away at a deficit, which was as much as 12 at one point. Through heart and sheer determination these ladies never game up and fought to a 56-52 victory!

Congrats to all three teams on a stellar season, and we look forward to watching the varsity squad in their NCS games starting next week!
