Lego STEM Challenge at William P. Faust Public Library - on  Sunday, September 8 from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, 6123 Central City Parkway, in Meeting Rooms A and B. Come build with us!  A nice big room with friends who like to build = FUN!  We'll have lots and lots of Lego® bricks for building, along with books for inspiration. Adult Video Game Night at William P. Faust Public Library - on Monday, September 9 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, 6123 Central City Parkway, Meeting Rooms A and B.  Adults are invited to play video games - join a tournament or free play! Scheduled Upcoming Civic Meetings - Residents are invited to attend the upcoming City meetings. Below is a list of the meetings with their date, time and location: 

City Council Study Session
  • The Westland City Council will hold a Study Session on Monday, September 9 at 6:00 pm at Westland City Hall, 36300 Warren Road, in the Council Conference Room to discuss Marijuana Regulations.
Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA)
  • The TIFA/EDC meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 10 at 8:00 am at Westland City Hall, 36300 Warren Road. The TIFA/EDC Board promotes economic and business development through programs and public improvement projects that create economic opportunity, provide entrepreneurial support, and preserve property values. Regularly scheduled board meetings take place place on the second Tuesday of every other month. Please click here to see the agenda.
Opiod Recovery Clinic Neighborhood Meeting - on Tuesday, September 10 from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm at Westland City Hall, 36300 Warren Road, in Community Room C and D. The City invites neighborhood residents and those interested in learning more about the recently approved Opioid Recovery Clinic to an informative meeting. This will be hosted by Dr. Barthwell and Dr. Khanafer of the Opioid Recovery Clinic and they will discuss how the facility will operate and what treatment programs will be offered. All neighborhood residents and those interested in learning more are welcome. While not required, questions and attendance confirmation may be directed prior to the meeting to Mohamed Ayoub at [email protected]

Academic Enrichment Tutoring Program with the Westland Youth Assistance Program - beginning Wednesday, September 11 through the end of the school year. Every Wednesday from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Jefferson Barns Community Vitality Center, 32150 Dorsey. Westland Woolies for a Cause at William P. Faust Public Library - on Wednesday, September 11 from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm, 6123 Central City Parkway, located in Meeting Room C.  Calling all knitters/crocheters! Bring your yarn and needles/hooks the first Wednesday of the month and make items for charity. While the main focus will be on hats for chemotherapy patients, the possibilities are endless.  This is the perfect opportunity to start and finish small projects that have a lasting impact. Friends of the Library Book Sale Preview - on Thursday, September 12 from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm, 6123 Central City Parkway, Meeting Rooms A and B. Join us for our quarterly book sale! The Preview Book Sale, is a chance for members of the Friends of the Library (or those interested in joining) to get first pick at this month's sale. The Book Sale will be open to the general public on Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
