Hello Peter Families,
As I write this, I sit in an empty building that only hours earlier families were bustling in to collect last minute items and Chromebook to prepare for distance learning. To think that just a little over a week ago we were preparing to welcome our newest community of incoming Kindergartens, the class of 2033. It feels like that was forever ago, so much has changed in a short amount of time, and I have no doubt that it will continue to evolve.
The one thing that remains consistent and brings me hope is the incredible community of SLP. This is where when in times of uncertainty, our community comes together (this time virtually) and support each other in any and every way that is needed. Please continue to show grace and love to yourself and your family, knowing that Peter Hobart certainly considers you a part of our family.
We are here for you as we all work together to navigate a situation that we have never dealt with before. I choose to believe that with grace and love, we will thrive. I appreciate the many ways that people have already done this. I also understand that there are a number of circumstances that may be impacting families at times like these, for both our students and staff. Please reach out if you need support, do not remain in isolation. We hope that you find healthy and fun ways to take care of yourself and loved ones during this time.
Staff have been collaborating virtually, and learning about distance learning tools that can help each and every student continue to grow. This is new territory for all of us so we hope you will be patient as we work out some of the logistics. Students were asked to bring home some materials, curriculum, books and other school supplies including passwords. Teachers will be using a variety of ways to communicate; however, our main format will be Seesaw. Please reach out to your students’ teacher if you have questions.
Although very few people are actually physically at school now, we will continue to answer phone messages and emails. Do not hesitate to reach out to us via email or phone call. From our hearts, we want you to know that as a school community, we want to be part of your on-going support system. We are truly grateful to have you in our lives!
Peter Hobart Proud,
