It is difficult to believe that only a month ago the Coronavirus seemed like a health problem in China and potentially those who had traveled there recently. Today, it is a global pandemic that has curtailed economies around the world. Here in the US half of the states are under some type of stay at home order to reduce the spread of the virus. There have been hundreds of thousands diagnosed with COVID-19 including thousands of deaths. Our world has changed. But the COVID-19 pandemic is more than just a health risk. There is also a very real risk from malicious cyber actors to prey on unsuspecting or generous people trying to help. In a world where the average work day is spent at home and many more hours are spent online and with social media, it is even more important than ever to be on guard against cybersecurity attacks.

Recently, I have come across an organization called the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA). This alliance builds strong public/private partnerships to create and implement broad-reaching education and awareness efforts to empower users at home, work and school with the information they need to keep themselves, their organizations, their systems, and their sensitive information safe and secure online and encourage a culture of cybersecurity. Their website  is a wealth of information about how to protect yourself and your business from cybersecurity attacks.
