G's Tacos, a Full Service Restaurant and Bar, Planned for Second Creek Marketplace
Residents and visitors will have a new place to cheer on the Broncos over a plate of wings or tacos. G's Tacos, a family-owned Colorado company with two concepts across the Denver metropolitan area, plans to operate a 2,600 square-foot full service bar and grill at the northeast corner of E. 104th Avenue and Chambers Road in the Second Creek Marketplace development. G's Tacos serves up breakfast burritos all day, as well as wings, tacos, and burgers for lunch and dinner seven days a week. The restaurant will feature a 500-square-foot outdoor patio and is expected to open by fall 2019.

Becknell Industrial Purchases Additional 39.81 Acres in Nexus at DIA
Indiana-based
Becknell Industrial purchased an additional 39.81 acres in the Nexus at DIA business park near East 84th Avenue and Tower Road. The company purchased 38.8 acres in the business park in April 2018 and is currently building a 540,800 square-foot industrial building. GE/Haier Appliance will occupy a majority of this first building. Becknell's two acquisitions within Nexus will bring tremendous amounts of capital investment to Commerce City as well as new industrial product that will help attract new employers.

Nominations Open for Annual Business Appreciation Awards
Commerce City is thankful for the businesses that choose to operate in the city. The annual Business Appreciation Awards Breakfast provides the opportunity to recognize some of these businesses. This year's awards program will be held March 21, from 7:30-9 a.m. at the Bison Ridge Recreation Center.
Business nominations are currently being accepted. There are five award categories available for nomination:
- Business on the Move Award
- Entrepreneurial Spirit Award
- Economic Development Award for Leadership
- Business of the Year Award
- Retailer of the Year Award

deadline for nominations is February 7, 2019. Winners will be selected based on awards criteria by a group of volunteer business and community leaders.

Upcoming Open House Will Celebrate New Community Partnerships
An Open House on February 15 at the Commerce City Small Business Resource Center, 7270 Monaco St, 1-3 p.m., will celebrate the new partnership between the Colorado Minority Business Office (MBO), Commerce City Economic Development Division, the Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Adelante Community Development. Through this partnership, MBO consultants will offer bilingual consulting services to minority, veteran, and woman-owned businesses and will share the benefits of available state, federal and local business certifications and how to obtain them. Local Program Supports Food Truck Businesses
The Sal y Pimienta Food Truck Academy is holding its second training program at the Commerce City Small Business Resource Center, 7270 Monaco St., March 8-10 (Friday, 4-9 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.). Taught entirely in Spanish, the curriculum was developed on behalf of Adelante Community Development to teach management and operation of food trucks through sessions on understanding government rules and regulations, business development, managing and promotion, and access to capital. Adelante wrote the curriculum for this program to give food truck owners and those aspiring to own a truck, the support they need. Learn more about Adelante.

First Step for 2019 Business Growth: Pre-Certify for Tax Credits
The Colorado Enterprise Zone (EZ) Program offers state income tax credits to businesses that create new jobs and/or invest in economically distressed areas of the state. If your business is located within a qualified enterprise zone and is pre-certified, the
business may be eligible for valuable state income tax credits. Enter your address into
the EZ online map and find out if your business is located within a qualified enterprise zone.
Enterprise zone tax credits can be earned on investments, job training, hiring of new employees, research and development, the rehabilitation of vacant buildings, and the purchase of commercial vehicles. Businesses who would like to claim any of the Enterprise Zone tax credits must pre-certify annually with the local EZ Administrator. Businesses can
apply for pre-certification online.

Wingstop Announces New Commerce City Location
Wingstop, Inc. has announced a new location for Commerce City at 4952 E. 62nd Avenue., Suite A2. Founded in 1994, Wingstop is a chain of aviation-themed restaurants that specialize in chicken wings. The 1,354 square-foot restaurant will employ 20-25 staff members and plans to open in summer 2019.
Tradicion Bar and Grill Closes Restaurant - Operates as Event Center
The owners of Tradicion Bar and Grill in the Irondale neighborhood closed the restaurant and will operate the building solely as an event center. The building is located at 8383 Rosemary Street. Anyone interested in utilizing the space for an event can call 720-379-4532 for more information.
