Demo with Carolyn McGowan
Making two styles of Artist Books, also called a zine or handmade journal, created from a single sheet of paper.

Join artist Carolyn McGowan for a demonstration in making two styles of Artist Books, also called a zine or handmade journal, created from a single sheet of paper. A sheet of paper and scissors are really all that is needed. A self-healing cutting mat, sharp knife, bone folder, straight edge/ruler and doubled sided tape are helpful tools to also have on hand. These are great uses for those "unsuccessful" (or rather potential yet to be realized) paintings that you can bring back to life with a new purpose.

Watch for your ZOOM invitation via email with link to join in the fun.

Member Announcements
Four Gold Coast members have been accepted into the 44th Southern Watercolor Society Annual Juried Exhibition: Susan Hanssen, Lynne Kroll, Judy Nunno, and Thomas Rebek.

Judy Nunno has been accepted into Transparent Watercolor Society of America 45th Annual Juried Exhibition, May 1- August 1, 2021 in Kenosha, WI.

The donated artwork of former member Danielle Vaillancourt was placed by Vitas Hospice in the Broward Health, Coral Springs Hospital. Twelve of Danielle’s paintings will hang in 8 rooms for Hospice patients as well as the hallway where patients and families gather at a solemn time of life.

Her daughter responded, “Indeed my mother would have been very happy to know her paintings are hanging on those walls. It seems fitting that Vitas should be getting them since they were the ones helping her on her journey in the end.

Please accept our thanks for all you are doing and all you did in the past: I know it meant a lot to my mother to have all of you as friends”.
