Three Moon Township Residents Receive Difference Maker Award
Eighteen members of the Allegheny County Council District 1 community were honored as "Difference Makers" at two town hall meetings this summer.  Councilman Tom Baker and Councilman-at-Large Sam DeMarco presented the awards. Of the 18 winners, three are Moon Township residents, including:
  • Sandy Hershberger for her commitment to and leadership of the West Hills Food Pantry, spending time every day coordinating food deliveries, managing volunteers, and organizing programs like free backpacks, a coat drive and senior citizen transportation to and from the pantry.  Sandy also volunteers for the Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and Meals on Wheels.
  • Frank Magnotta for his volunteer work with MCA-TV - serving on the advisory board, producing programs and filming local meetings and events - as well as his commitment to serving on the Moon Parks and Recreation advisory board.
  • And, Aaron Margo for volunteering as a Big Brother with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh.  Aaron has supported his Little Brother Amari and his family through difficult times since 2017.
Supervisors presented the award winners with certificates to recognize their achievement and dedication to our community.
