Welcome to the hazy days of summer. Hope everyone is staying cool whether at a local public pool, cooling center or with a double scoop cone. This week we have compiled a few neighborhood arts and events to help you ease back into social integration.
Rowhouses
Too steamy to venture out? Well sidle up to the AC and take the DCCA virtual house tour - our ongoing monthly series where you visit interesting Dupont homes and institutions and learn more about their past. This ongoing 2020-2021 project has featured many homes and locations occupied by the Black Americans who helped establish and shape this special neighborhood.
17th Street Fun
The 17th Street Pride Sidewalk Party on June 26th was a big success on short notice. DCCA Board members shared a table with other community organizations and met friends and neighbors.

There was dancing in the streets, showing what DCCA’s future vision for a true shared street in our East Dupont neighborhood square could be.
Cool Down at the Phillips
Seeing Differently: Drawn from its growing collection of nearly 6,000 works, Seeing Differently will highlight over 200 works by artists from the 19th century to the present. The exhibition will explore the complexities of our ever-changing world through themes of identity, history, place, and the senses—with special focus on recent acquisitions that showcase how the museum’s dynamic collection continues to evolve.

Timed tickets are required for general entry. The Phillips Collection currently releases tickets for dates four weeks in advance, with tickets for each following week released on Tuesdays at 12 pm, with a presale for Phillips members starting at 10 am. Tickets are $16 for adults and $12 for seniors.

Farmers Market season is in full effect and with a large organic market in our backyard each Sunday, there is always a chance to pick up fresh treats, support local farmers, or just enjoy the lively atmosphere. The folks at Fresh Farm Market report that the following are in season:

But of course the market offers so much more including beautiful fresh cut flowers from Wollam Gardens run by a Dupont neighbor and DCCA friend! Buy local!

After shopping at the Farmer's Market, check out the eclectic collection of vintage and antique items and more at the Little Flea Market on the Corner of 19th and Q!
