ARTSOC ISSUES COVID RESPONSE REPORT

Arts Orange County has issued a report on its COVID-19 Response and Relief Funding Results, which includes its activities to document the financial losses of OC's arts community, advocate for relief funds from the public and private sectors, engage in additional advocacy to promote approval of the safe reopening of arts venues and stave off cuts to arts education funding, as well as pivot in its own programming through presenting more than 50 briefings, trainings and roundtables for OC arts leaders, transforming its SparkOC arts calendar website to promote virtual arts programs offered countywide, and converting its own programs to virtual offerings.
More than $2.7 Million in relief funds have been received to date by 137 arts organizations and 167 artists from CARES Act distributions through various local, state and federal agencies, including $1 Million granted by the OC Arts and Culture Resilience Fund, a collaboration of Arts Orange County, Charitable Ventures and Orange County Community Foundation. The 8-page report may be viewed here.
Arts Orange County received no part of the funds it generated through its advocacy or fundraising efforts in order to maintain its focus on meeting the needs of the arts community. However, it is now inviting the public to support the work it is doing through charitable donations, which may be made here.
