Covid-19: Tourism Industry Update
Ahead of the Summer holiday period, Welsh Government has published updated guidance, including a checklist and risk assessment toolkit for tourism and hospitality businesses. Information is also available via this short video.
Covid-19 and Employment Changes in Wales
A new series of reports that focus on the effects of Covid-19 on employment in Wales has been published by Public Health Wales.
 
Key findings identify that young people and those in precarious work have been identified as being especially vulnerable to employment changes caused by the pandemic. To view the report series please click here.
Inspiring Women to be Active During Midlife and Menopause
Published by Women in Sport, this report builds on existing data that shows women want to be more active during this life stage. The research examined women’s lives over a five-month period to fully understand the experiences of menopause and physical activity. Recommendations to improve women’s lives, looking at both menopause and physical activity, include the important role of stakeholders such as employers to help get women moving in midlife.

Virtual conference. Good Work, Good Health: Securing Our Future.
Public Health Network Cymru in partnership with Public Health Wales is excited to be hosting this event where you can learn, network and contribute. The aim is to share knowledge and galvanise action to increase access to good, fair work to improve health and health equity, and has a particular focus on young people.

Speakers include Frank Atherton, Chief Medical Officer for Wales, and Professor Sir Mansel Aylward, Professor of Prudent Health and Wellbeing at Swansea University plus contributions from young people who are Kickstart beneficiaries. For more information and registration details, click here.

Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people to be part of the solution to plastic pollution.

Every July, Samaritans branches across the UK and Ireland hold local events to talk about the services they offer in their communities.

Covid-19 Commendation Event
The HWW team is planning a Covid-19 commendation virtual event to take place in Autumn 2021 to recognise employers in Wales who have demonstrated innovative practice in protecting their workforce and wider community during the pandemic. Further details about the event and how to submit entries for the awards will be coming soon!
